D.O.L.L.S. stands for "Dolls On Line, Learning and Sharing." It is the first Internet chapter of the United Federation of Doll Clubs (UFDC) and was chartered in 2001. We have members from all over the United States and Australia, and we meet on the third Monday of each month, in the UFDC Chat Room.
D.O.L.L.S. originally grew out of friendships formed on eBay's Chat Board, Members often present doll programs at the end of meetings, but those are shown on eBay's Doll Chat board so everyone can enjoy them. Those programs are archived for viewing later, and the link is posted every morning as part of the daily announcements on eBay's Doll Chat board. We are now able to put our programs online in PDF format which can be read or printed out. Please take a look at our first one by CLICKING HERE!
These are the membership requirements to join the D.O.L.L.S. Club:
1. Own at least 10 dolls
2. Attend two meetings as a guest. (Guests are welcome at meetings any time.)
3. Ask two members to recommend you for membership. (This is not hard to do if you chat for a few weeks on eBay's Doll Chat board so people can get to know you.) The members then vote you in. Nobody's ever been denied membership.
4. Write a short biography of yourself (family, doll interests, hobbies, etc.) that is shared with all members via e-mail so they can get to know you.
Membership to UFDC is $30.00 per year (this fee is prorated the first year, depending on what time of year you join). These fees are for membership in UFDC and a subscription to UFDC's Doll News magazine, which is a wonderful magazine! The Online Club currently has local fees of $5. If you belong to another club already and have paid dues then you only need to pay for the UFDC dues and local dues and not the magazine, which would be $15 plus local of $5.
