Description:
Please join Alette Fleischer as she speaks with us from Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, about 17th-century Dutch dollhouses. Today there are only seven or so dollhouses from the 17th-18th centuries still in existence. These dollhouses were commissioned by wealthy women to prove their social and financial status, as well as their knowledge of arts and culture. Step back in time to learn about these amazing miniature mansions, their furnishings, and their small inhabitants.
