About Alice Leverett
Alice Leverett is an accomplished doll artist whose work reflects a deep love of dollmaking history, costume, and fine handcraft. She began making cloth dolls in 1980 and has spent more than 30 years developing her artistry, later studying reproduction dolls and costuming to expand her work in historically inspired doll design.
Alice's creations often evoke the elegance of 19th-century fashion, with carefully researched fabrics, authentic details, and a strong sense of character. Through her dolls, workshops, and designs, Leverett has built a body of work that blends technical skill with a collector’s appreciation for antique style and period accuracy. Her artistry continues to be admired for its craftsmanship, authenticity, and distinctive connection to the traditions of classic dollmaking.
Join us for "Tea at 3" and a "Paper Doll Fashion Show."
Alice Leverett has created a special souvenir inspired by an antique paper doll set from her collection. The souvenir is a boxed mid-19th-century “Psyche Style” two-sided paper doll, complete with display accessories. The story booklet included in your set describes an event set in old New Orleans and sets the stage for unique fabric costumes inspired by the paper doll dresses.
These costumes, crafted by Alice, will be auctioned at the tea event. They are designed to fit a 15.5-inch doll with proportions similar to the DP resin body or an antique French fashion doll.
