About Connie Tognoli
Connie Tognoli is a well-respected doll artist known for her innovative and original handmade dolls, including cloth dolls, bunnies, bears, and animals with unique costuming and accessories. She has had a long and distinguished career as a dollmaker, pattern maker, and doll repair expert.
Connie’s work often features felted wool characters and creatively combines fabric and paper to produce charming, one-of-a-kind art dolls. She is also recognized as a sought-after workshop instructor and published author in the doll community. Notable creations include the 10" cloth doll "Miss Columbia" and a diminutive 8" cloth Raggedy Ann designed as a Notions Nanny. Her dolls are celebrated for their craftsmanship and whimsical appeal.
This wonderful event celebrates Dorothy Heizer, a charter member of NIADA, the National Institute of American Doll Artists.
The very talented Connie Tognoli is creating the centerpieces for the event – beautifully made “Flossie” cloth dolls, based on a pattern from Susan Sirkis's ever-popular “Wish Booklets.”
As a fundraiser for UFDC, the dolls will be auctioned off, giving attendees a chance to take home one (or more!) of these treasures. Linda Edward will give the program, telling us all about Dorothy and her creations.
There will be no souvenir, but attendees will leave with a lovely favor.
