About Darlene Lane

Darlene Lane is a renowned doll artist celebrated for her masterful antique reproduction dolls in porcelain and all-bisque. Internationally recognized for her exceptional craftsmanship and historical accuracy, she creates exquisitely detailed recreations of 19th-century French and German fashion dolls such as those inspired by Jumeau, Huret, Bru, and Rohmer that are often indistinguishable from the originals.

A dedicated educator who taught as a traveling seminar instructor for Bell Ceramics for twelve years, Lane continues to offer specialty workshops on a limited basis and regularly designs souvenir dolls for UFDC conventions and special events.

Among her many honors, she holds the distinction of being the first artist to receive both the Professional Millie and the Rolf Erickson Awards in the same competition, along with the Emerald Award, the highest recognition for antique reproductions from the International Doll Makers Association. Her dolls have appeared on numerous covers of Doll Crafter and Doll Makers Workshop, she has authored articles for leading doll publications, and her work continues to be prized by collectors worldwide for its technical precision and deep respect for classic dollmaking traditions.

High Tea with Rosalie
Afternoon Tea
Wednesday, July 29
3:00 PM – 4:30 PM

The Ann Arbor Doll Collectors invite you to join them for “High Tea with Rosalie.”

Artist Darlene Lane has created an exquisite FG2 mignonette, Rosalie, exclusively for this special event. Rosalie is a reproduction of an original antique all-bisque doll from Darlene’s personal collection.

A program titled “At Home in the Past,” an exploration of antique Mignonette-scale doll furniture, will be presented by Kari Gluski.

Centerpieces will feature a charming companion doll by Darlene, displayed in an elegant French Rococo–style setting. These centerpieces will be offered at auction to attendees, with proceeds benefiting the UFDC general fund.

Join us for an afternoon of elegance, whimsy, and a touch of extravagance… where tiny treasures reign supreme, and every detail delights. Hats are optional—but the more fabulous, the better!
