Julian Kalinowski is an independent doll artist and collector with over three decades of involvement in the doll community, particularly known for his work inspired by vintage and mid-century dolls. He has a deep passion for Sasha dolls, having collected and studied them since 1989, and has created several vintage-inspired fashion dolls including Lalka, Severine, Sevinyl, and Sylvain. Julian is renowned for hand-painting his dolls and crafting their outfits from scratch, drawing inspiration from the 1950s aesthetic. His notable creation includes the Lilli Lalka, a handmade reproduction of the pioneering 1950s Bild Lilli doll, which was a precursor to Barbie. Julian’s work is celebrated for its artistic detail and historical homage, blending doll artistry with fashion and cultural history.
