About Lolly Yocum

Lolly Yocum is a distinguished doll artist known for her mastery in cloth dolls, often describing her work as "textile alchemy"-transforming flat pieces of fabric into expressive dolls. With a background influenced by seamstresses in her family, she began her journey making doll clothes and later expanded into doll creation, working in various mediums including papier-mâché and polymer clays, though she remains primarily drawn to cloth. Lolly's recent creations include the 2023 Izannah Walker birthday celebration dolls, and her work continues to be sought after by collectors through Laurelleaf Studios at laurelleaf.com.

Who Shrunk My Kamkins Doll?
Luncheon
Thursday, July 24, 2025
12:15 PM - 2:00 PM
This luncheon event features a 6 ½” doll styled after the rare, earliest Kamkins dolls with painted hair. Crafted by doll artist Lolly Yocum, her cloth dolls are made entirely by hand. Lolly even prints her own fabric to scale as she sews the outfits which duplicate those found on the antique Kamkins. You may remember some of Lolly's other popular miniature dolls that are made to resemble Izannah Walker, Columbian, and Alabama Baby dolls. Although Lolly has made Kamkins dolls with mohair wigs, these Kamkins with painted hair have been made specially for UFDC. Join the host club, Lady Baltimore, as they welcome you to this special event. The program, presented by Donelle Denery, will discuss the earliest Kamkins made.
