About Rachel McCullough Sherrod

Rachel McCullough Sherrod is a distinguished cloth doll artist known for her expressive pressed felt mask-face dolls created under her studio, Starkey's Daughter Cloth Dolls.

Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, and named in honor of her father, she has been making dolls off and on for decades but seriously dedicated herself to the craft in 2012 following her retirement. She crafts one-of-a-kind and limited edition dolls that celebrate African American children and historical figures with remarkable character, detail, and cultural significance.

Rachel's thoughtful creations have been featured in DOLLS Magazine and are prized by collectors for their emotional depth and authentic representation of Black heritage.
