It is amazing how much is accomplished by our organization with two full time and two part time employees. OK, we have contracts with various people to supply some services but the VAST majority of what UFDC offers - all the local club activities, DOLL NEWS, National Convention, Regional Conferences, Online events, Zoom programs, the UFDC website, UFDC Facebook, UFDC YouTube, the UFDC Museum, Special Events and Exhibits at our Headquarters in Kansas City, our Junior Collector Program, the UFDC Shop, the list goes on and on - is made possible by our members who volunteer their time and talents to make it all happen. It is a real demonstration of our tag line "Our UFDC CommUNITY - In UNITY there is STRENGTH."

The dictionary definition of the word "volunteer" is a person who freely offers to do something/a person who works for an organization without being paid. "Volunteerism" is described as "the use or involvement of voluntary labour, especially in community services." And that is the essence of how UFDC works - our members give of their time and talents freely, for the love of the organization and what it stands for.

Often members say they would like to help, like to get involved, but they are not sure how to go about it. So here you will find a list of roles and contact points so you can get a full picture of all the possible ways you can contribute to UFDC. If you see a role that you think fits your talents and your availability, then please do reach out.

Don't be modest or shy - taking on a new type of role is a great opportunity for personal growth/development. And you will meet new people and make new friends - and who knows, you might even have some fun!
